Those attending the annual summit of the Western Regional Enterprise Network in Meteghan got some good news this morning.
The province announced $100,000 in funding to expand the Connector Program, which will be delivered by the WREN.
Labour and Advanced Education Minister Kelly Regan and Municipal Affairs Minister Zach Churchill made the announcement.
Regan says we need to work to keep jobs here.
“It’s important that we harness the strengths and abilities of our young people and newcomers to Nova Scotia and that we work to keep them here.”
The Connector Program is a networking initiative that helps local businesses and organizations connect with new graduates, immigrants, and international students who are interested in starting and growing their career in Nova Scotia.

Churchill says it will address an important need.
“In terms of people that have ideas or that want to pursue various avenues in their career and helping them identify those opportunities in the community. I think this program will help fill that gap.”
