A provincial club curling championship will be contested in Yarmouth this weekend.
The Under 13 Provincial Curling Jamboree will be held tomorrow through Sunday at the Yarmouth Curling Club.
31 teams from across the province will compete starting at 8am tomorrow morning, and wrapping up late Sunday afternoon with the championship game.
Yarmouth Curling Association President Rick Allwright says this will be a great event for Yarmouth.
“31 teams including four kids on each team and a bunch of parents all coming down to Yarmouth, it will mean quite a bit to the hotels and restaurants in the area.”
Nine junior curlers from Yarmouth will take part, including Team Doucet, consisting of skip Joseph Doucet, mate Cohen Garron, second Caelan DeViller and lead Cole MacPherson.
Tyler Doucette and Jenna Bishara will be coaches, and Emma Gould and Robby Churchill will join with the Barrington Curling Club to compete with their juniors.
Lucas Rodney will play lead for a team from Bridgewater.
