The Yarmouth ‘Bean There, Ran That’ Marathon will be held earlier than normal this year.
Usually, the run is done in August but the new date is June 11th.
Organizer Bobby-Lou Reardon tells us why the date has been changed.
“Our event is great, but it really hasn’t grown a lot over the five or six years that we’ve done it. We’ve talked about it for a few different reasons. It’s an attempt to give it a try during a time where it wasn’t too close to other things.”
Reardon says they are hoping that people who run the Bluenose Marathon in May will choose to come to Yarmouth as well.
The event serves as a qualifier for the Boston Marathon.
It also raises funds for the Yarmouth Hospital Kidney Dialysis Unit.
