The Western Regional Enterprise Network is expanding.
The group that oversees economic development in our region will welcome the Municipality of Barrington into the fold April 1st.
Barrington requested membership in December, and the existing member municipal units had to accept the request.
Warden Eddie Nickerson talks about what this means for Barrington.
“We’re going to be part of the region. It certainly makes a difference when you’ve got one municipality striving to do something versus 7 or 8. I think that’s going to be a big bonus. We’ve got some very capable people involved in the WREN.”
Nickerson says they are impressed with the work the WREN has done.
All municipal units in Yarmouth and Digby counties are members.
This is the first expansion for the group.
