Another snowy day in Nova Scotia.
The latest system dropped more snow than expected in Yarmouth and Shelburne Counties.
Schools and many businesses closed once again.
The Department of Transportation is working hard to keep main roads clear.
Bill Thurston says all trucks are out .
“We’re going to re-do the main roads, if it stops snowing we’ll salt them, and from then on we’ll attack the side roads and gravel roads.”
Thurston urges residents to drive carefully and to look out for whiteout conditions snow drifts in open areas.
The Darling’s Lake Road in Yarmouth County was closed for the first half of the day after road conditions caused an 18-wheeler to jack-knife early this morning.
Nova Scotia Power says there are small outages in Gunning Cove and Lockeport, Shelburne County.
Restoration of power is expected sometime this evening.
