Power outages in Shelburne County have prompted the setup of a comfort centre.
The Lockeport Fire Hall is open With estimated restoration times as late as tomorrow evening, Councillor Dayle Eshelby says they will stay open as long as needed.
“It’s a place to come and warm up. If people have things like their cellphone or iPad they need to charge up, they can certainly come here. It’s a place that’s safe and warm.”
There is also food available.
Eshelby says they want people to stay safe first of all.
Nova Scotia Power says the estimated restoration time could extend to tomorrow evening.
