The president of the Nova Scotia Teacher’s Union says she’s not surprised by the premier’s promise to table legislation forcing teachers to end their work-to-rule job action.
Liette Doucet says the move is in line with what the McNeil government has done in the past.
Doucet says through the recent work-to-rule action teachers have been taking a stand for better classroom conditions.
She says this move to legislate a contract with teachers won’t fix the issues that have been raised.
She adds it will only serve to erode the trust between teachers and government.
