The winter storm warning has been lifted for the Tri-Counties.
This will be a clean up day.
The latest blast of winter began late yesterday afternoon with snow, ice pellets and high winds.
It dropped 19 cms of snow on the ground according to the Yarmouth International Airport.
That’s far less than the 30 to 40 cm forecast yesterday by Environment Canada.
The highest wind gusts recorded at the airport were 85 km/h, however some areas gusts reached in access of 100.
All schools and all work sites, including the regional office, at the Tri-County Regional School Board will be closed today.
Classes are cancelled in the Clare and Argyle regions of the CSAP.
The Board office in Meteghan River will be closed until 10 am.
NSCC Burridge, Digby and Shelburne will be closed today.
Morning classes have been cancelled at Dalhousie School of Nursing- Yarmouth Site.
Nova Scotia Power reports outages in Clam Point and The Hawk, Clare with the largest outages along Digby Neck and on
Brier Island with over 630 customers affected.
