It will be a year this month since the Town of Yarmouth implemented a transit system.
Mayor Pam Mood says it’s been a resounding success that is showing consistent growth each month.
She offers this advice to Bridgewater who is considering creating their own system.
“Get your route right, you know, make sure you can accommodate as many people as possible…all those folks going to the community collage, hospitals, all those pieces that they have easy access, as easy as possible.”
Mood says there are a lot of logistical issues when taking on this type of project .
But she says if Bridgewater can get the route right, almost everything else can be tweaked.
Mood says if ridership continues to grow in Yarmouth she would be happy to see more buses and routes added over time.
