Some tough competition in the category, as former Tragically Hip front-man Gord Downie is nominated for his album ‘The Secret Path’ and the late Leonard Cohen is nominated for ‘You Want It Darker.’
‘The Great Detachment’ was released in 2016, and features the hit single ‘Amerika,’ which hit number one on the Canadian rock charts.
This is Wintersleep’s third JUNO nomination, and first since 2008.
They won New Group of the Year that year and were also nominated for Alternative Album of the Year for ‘Welcome to the Night Sky.’
The JUNOS will be held in Ottawa on April 2nd.
