The province says more university students will get the experience they need to start their careers in Nova Scotia.
Kelly Regan, Minister of Labour and Advanced Education, announced an additional 440-thousand dollars
in funding for the Mitacs Accelerate Program to help create paid internship opportunities and encourage innovation through
research and development.
She says the program connects small and medium-sized companies with graduate students or postdoctoral fellows to solve research and
innovation challenges.
“That supports 176 internships this year. That’s very important because it gives young people a chance at a good opportunity, they get some work experience.but it also helps small and medium sized businesses do research and flourish and grow.”
