It’s believed a small fire at a solid waste facility in Clare began overnight.
The Meteghan and Little Brook fire departments responded just after 8 this morning to the transfer station on the Bonnie Road.
Meteghan firefighter Mitchell Hicks says the fire was small and the damage minimal.
“It was just a smoldering fire. There was no visible flame. It was right in the garbage pile inside the transfer station. There was just slight damage to their
front-end loader, some melted mirrors and plastic.”
Hicks says it looked like the fire had started overnight.
The cause is unknown.
