Wind was carrying the fire close to some structures on the north side of the street.
Platoon Chief Peter Winship says even though it’s winter, conditions are dry.
“With the change in season, everything is quite dry right now believe it or not. We had a good turnout today, and we were able to keep all structures intact.”
About a dozen firefighters responded to the blaze.
Winship says an investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing.
