This one was the tightest game yet, a 3-2 shootout loss at Mariners Centre last night.
The game at Mariners Centre was a thriller, with the Bearcats taking the lead twice, and the Mariners rallying to tie it both times.
Chris Goreham and Mateo Short scored for Yarmouth.
Leif Hertz made 22 saves in regulation and overtime. He allowed one goal to Brandon Hughes in the shootout.
Bearcats Captain Kyle Tibbo scored both Truro goals.
Despite getting just one point out of a possible six over the last three nights, Yarmouth’s Head Coach Laurie Barron says his team battled hard.
“We played three great hockey teams. If you aren’t 100 per cent over 60 minutes, bad things will happen. We were real close. I’m very proud of the team tonight and how hard we battled. There wasn’t one player on the ice that didn’t give it their all.”
Yarmouth moved within two points of Pictou County for the league lead, while the Bearcats are two points behind the Mariners for second.
They travel to play South Shore on Friday before hosting the Crushers Saturday.
