A fisherman was airlifted from a vessel off Shelburne County earlier this morning.
Sub Lt. Sean Ritchie with the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Halifax says they were notified at approximately 6:40 am of someone in medical distress aboard a fishing boat located 28 nautical miles southeast of Clark’s Harbour.
He says a Cormorant helicopter was tasked and the man was hoisted off the boat and flown to the Yarmouth Regional Hospital suffering from a suspected heart attack.
His condition was not known.
