Part of Common Council’s plan for economic growth is to attract more immigrants to Saint John. That might be possible if a prediction by the Atlantic Provinces Economic Council comes to pass.
According to its forecast, the number of immigrants to our region could increase to an average of almost 14 thousand a year.
The numbers have tripled since 2002, reaching 83 hundred in 2015 and exceeding 11 thousand in the first nine months of last year with the influx of Syrian refugees.
