The Department of Fisheries and Oceans continues to monitor areas of Southwestern Nova Scotia for fresh fish kills.
In a series of tweets today, they say a few new wash-ups of herring have been identified, but not to the extent of previous incidents.

DFO says the majority of existing dead herring are still located from the mouth of the Sissiboo River to the Plympton-Barton area.
David Jennings is a communications adviser with DFO Maritimes.
He says they are continuing to stay on top of the issue.
“We’re looking for evidence of any new incidents. Our recent patrols confirm that most beaches from Tusket through to the inner St. Mary’s Bay area are clear right now.”

Jennings says tests are still being done to determine why thousands of herring and other species have washed up on local shores over the
last few weeks.
