The federal government is investing $287.8-million into healthcare in Nova Scotia.
Despite a breakdown in discussions between the provinces and Ottawa earlier this week Nova Scotia was able to secure an agreement on our own.
The announcement came late this afternoon.
Treasury and Finance Minister Randy Delorey says the money will be payed over the course of ten years.
He says this long term deal will mean stable funding that can be relied on each year.
The money will be divided with $157-million going to home care and the other $130.8-million for mental health.
Delorey says this is a great deal for Nova Scotians.
He says decisions about how exactly the money will be spent will be made in the coming months.
