A Christmas tradition continues at the Lions Hall in Yarmouth Sunday.
From noon until 3, there will be a free community Christmas dinner at the hall on Parade Street.
Organizer Brenda Hattie says the event has grown over the last 18 years.
“The first year I did it, I had 12 people. I started at the Armories, and it grew to the point where we had to move it off to the Lions Club.
Hattie says donations of food can be dropped off at the Lions Hall, and all donations are greatly appreciated.
She says the support the event receives every year is remarkable, and just goes to show the need is there.
“It makes me feel good to help out. If I’ve fed one person, I’ve done my job.”
Rides are also available for those that can’t get to the dinner by calling the Lions Club on Christmas Day..
