If all goes according to plan the Yarmouth Boys and Girls daycare will be open by next Wednesday.
They’ve been forced to temporarily relocate in the old South Centennial School after a broken pipe flooded their building
on Bond Street.
Staff have been packing what wasn’t damaged by water and have begun to move items into the school.
The club’s Executive Director Jodie Pothier says they hope to open by the middle of next week.
“Our goal is Wednesday depending on how fast we can get set up and have licensing come and inspect again. But we won’t fully know until Friday”
Pothier says while the damage to the centre on Bond Street was extensive, they will return.
“They are already tearing down ceilings, walls will have to be replaced or repaired. It all depends on what they find. They’re saying June at the latest. It’s a lot better than what we thought.”

The Yarmouth Regional Hospital, the HOPE Centre and Bayside Home in Barrington all fell victim to flooding caused by last weekend’s
frigid temperatures and high winds.
