An extra special thank you is being given to staff this holiday season in the Town of Shelburne.
Mayor Karen Mattatall says about two dozen people received turkeys to help feed their families at Christmas.
She says she thought it would be a good way to show appreciation for the work they do year-round.
Mattatall says some people are taking it one step further.
“Certainly some people are kind of excited because they actually would like to donate turkeys to some of the groups at Christmas time that are feeding families.”
Mattatall jokes she’s not sure how big the turkeys will be but expects between 10 and 15 pounds.
