The HOPE Centre in Yarmouth is scrambling to find a temporary location.
A broken pipe forced them from their building on Main Street.
An employee discovered the mess this morning.
The water ruined files, two computers and the photocopy machine and damage to the walls and ceiling is extensive.
The good news is, a new building is being constructed across the street.
However, Coordinator Linda Vickery says it won’t be ready until the middle or end of March.
Vickery says the pipe likely broke Friday when extreme cold hit our region.
The HOPE Centre was closed on the weekend, so she says the water ran down from the top floor for three days.
Vickery says she’s devastated.
“It’s frustrating, now we have to move for a couple months and then we have to move again. I’ve also lost many important files. I just want to cry.”

Items that could be salvaged were being moved into a cube van for the time being.
Vickery says they’ll find out soon from their insurance company about the financial impact.
HOPE stands for the Handicapped Organization Promoting Equality.
