A small earthquake was felt in Clare this morning.
Earthquakes Canada has confirmed a 3.0 magnitude quake occurred 42 kilometres southwest of Digby.
It happened around 10:40, and the epicenter is believed to be around Church Point.
Tracy d’Entremont of Saulnierville says she felt a rumble.
“It was like a plow truck was coming right through the house. The whole house just shook. It was like a big bang.”
d’Entremont says she’s heard of people feeling the shake all the way up to Weymouth.
“Checking Facebook at the time, nobody else knew anything except a loud noise and the ground shaking. It was only in certain spots, because Saulnierville to Saint Bernard felt it, but it seemed Meteghan to Yarmouth didn’t.”
It’s not the first time an earthquake has hit our region.
This past June, a 3.2 magnitude quake was felt in Yarmouth County, and on Canada Day, 2015 a 3.8 magnitude tremor hit.
