The premier’s office says Nova Scotia’s justice minister is taking a brief leave from her duties after she was hospitalized on Monday with a heart attack.
Diana Whalen is expected to make a full recovery.
Her colleague, Lunenburg West MLA Mark Furey, says she’s a valued and experienced member of the Liberal team.
“For her, nothing more important than her personal health and well-being and we look forward to her recovery and return to her role in government.”
Energy Minister Michel Samson will be the acting justice minister, attorney general, and deputy premier while Whalen is on leave.
