Today is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
It’s a day to remember the 14 women murdered at Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal on December 6, 1989.
We will never forget them. #December6 pic.twitter.com/wRcFqUQy8U

In Yarmouth, several groups are putting together a candlelight vigil in Frost Park this afternoon at 5.
Bernadette MacDonald with the Tri-County Women’s Centre says violence against women continues to be a very serious issue.
“On average, two women a year die in Nova Scotia at the hands of intimate partners. It’s a time to come together and remember those women, and the impact that this tragic social issue is having on our society.”
The South West Labour Group and Juniper House are also taking part.
The public is invited to meet in front of town hall before a march to the memorial plaque in Frost Park.
