Teachers in Nova Scotia will be in a legal strike position on Saturday, December 3rd.
That’s unless a deal can be reached between the Nova Scotia Teachers Union and the province.
The NSTU voted in favour of strike action in October.
Last week, the two sides agreed to return to the bargaining table with a conciliator in place.

Meanwhile, School boards across the province are watching closely.
The Tri-County Regional School Board recently posted a notice to its website, saying teachers and other NSTU employees could proceed with job action.
Board Director of Human Resources Gerry Purdy says they have a generic plan in place for interruptions in the school year.
“There is a basic plan that is largely centered on the safety and well-being of students, and communication to the families that are effected by whatever that interruption may be. The plan is adjusted as time goes on, and hopefully a solution will be found sooner rather than later.”
Purdy says the Superintendent has been keeping the lines of communication open with employees and parents of students.
He says they are hoping for a deal to be finalized, and the two sides are working hard to make that happen.
