Officials say the 2017 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship in Yarmouth was a success.
The six day wrapped up at Mariners Centre on Saturday.
Over 150 volunteers donated their time in some way to the event.
Host Committee Chair Rick Allwright says went as well as they could have expected.
“That shows the dedication of our host committee, putting the event together and the amount of pre-work we’ve done.
Allwright says the volunteers, sponsors and fans played a major role in the tournament.
He says Curling Canada has encouraged Yarmouth to bid on future events.
“They’re encouraging us to move forward with plans for other events. The ice-maker was very impressed, probably one of the best venues he’s worked in. He has encouraged us to bid on other events as well.
Allwright says it’s still a mystery as to when that would happen, but the interest is definitely there.
Thank you @VisitNovaScotia for the hospitality in Yarmouth for the Canadian Mixed! #CdnMixed2017 pic.twitter.com/tWpvAHWbtP
