Nova Scotia will not make the playoffs at the 2017 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship.
The event at Yarmouth Mariners Centre provided a home province atmosphere, but Paul Flemming’s rink have struggled their way to a 2-6 record so far.
After a 6-2 loss to second place Northern Ontario this afternoon and an 8-4 defeat to Saskatchewan tonight, Nova Scotia cannot make the top four in the championship pool for Saturday’s semi-final.

Teri Udle plays lead for the mixed curling squad, and came out of retirement to take part in this tournament.
The five time Scotties Tournament of Hearts participant says they’ve had some good games but the scores haven’t gone Nova Scotia’s way.
“We’re plugging away and trying to do our best. We’re having fun out there and getting along very well. Everyone knows Paul (Flemming), he’s good for some laughs for sure. We’re hanging tough.”

Nova Scotia plays their last two tomorrow at 10am against Quebec and at 7 versus Manitoba.
Trevor Bonot the Skip of 7-1 Northern Ontario says having good ice conditions helps as they push for a semifinal berth.
“The ice helps a lot when you have good ice and consistent ice, and when you can get a good read on it. When you know you can make shots, that’s helps with your confidence. That’s been a key to our success so far.”
Wayne Tuck’s Ontario rink still leads the way at 8-0, they face Northern Ontario tomorrow morning and Saskatchewan in the evening draw.
Saskatchewan plays 6-2 New Brunswick in the morning, and New Brunswick will face Northern Ontario at night.
5-3 Manitoba takes on 3-5 Newfoundland and Labrador in the other 10am game.
4-4 Quebec will face Newfoundland tomorrow night.
The semifinals are Saturday at 10am, with the championship and bronze games at 2:30.
