The Yarmouth Junior A Mariners winning streak is over.
Their three game run of victories ended in dramatic fashion as Julian Makary scored the shootout winner to lead the Amherst Ramblers to a 5-4 victory at Mariners Centre tonight.

The Mariners picked up a point in the shootout loss, staying in front of Pictou County by one point for first place in the league.
Yarmouth was led by Connor Peveril, who scored twice, including the game tying goal with 15 seconds left.
The 18 year old Sackville native took over the team lead in goals with 10, and says his new line-mates Aaron Maillet and Matt Barron have helped.
“I got put on a new line recently, and we just started to click. I started feeling good and getting some lucky bounces. I’ll take them, and I hope to keep it going.”
Ryan Daley and Andrew Martell were the other Mariner goal scorers. Daley’s goal made it 4-3 Amherst in the third period.
Brendan Cregan took the loss in goal, making 17 saves and Daryl MacCallum stopped 25 shots for the Ramblers.
Mariners Head Coach and General Manager Laurie Barron says there were some lapses from his team.
“I thought we let down a little bit. There was that five minute letdown in the second period where we gave up a couple of goals, and that cost us. But you know what, playing three out of four days we took five out of six points. We’ll take that and maybe learn a good lesson out of it.”
It was Amherst’s first win over Yarmouth in four tries this season.
The Canadian Mixed Curling Championships will kick off next weekend, and the Mariners won’t return to home ice until December 2nd.
Yarmouth begins four straight road games in Bridgewater on Thursday night against South Shore.
