IMO Foods has received an investment from the federal government.
The $75,000, which is repayable, will allow the company to carry out upgrades at its Water Street facility.
The announcement was made this morning by West Nova MP Colin Fraser.
Phil Leblanc is general manager of IMO Foods says it’s the latest technology.
“It’s a high-tech inspection unit that inspects every can we produce, so it’s a computer-aided vision inspection so the cans get a final check by the computer.”
LeBlanc says technology is crucial step in providing the best possible product to the consumer.
“It’s very important to keep up to date with technology to keep competitive in the world.”
IMO Foods currently employs 75 people full-time year round.
