The idea is to give people an idea of what programs the college offers as well as an opportunity to talk with faculty and students.
Principal Craig Collins from the Lunenburg Campus in Bridgewater says the NSCC experience is something unique.
“We’re going to give you industry-ready skills. We’re going to make you ready to perform. You’re going to come in, you’re not only going to do theory but more importantly, you’re going to do hands-on work.”
Collins says students who attend the college are as diverse as their reasons for enrolling.
“At any moment of the day when you’re walking through the mall or at the grocery store – a lot of those people are NSCC. So NSCC is the province and the province is NSCC.”
Collins says NSCC will waive the application fee for anyone who applies during the open house.
