Aaron Maillet scored his second goal of the game 15 seconds into overtime.
The Mariners led 3-1 heading into the third, but Ramblers fought back with two powerplay goals to tie it.
Yarmouth’s Head Coach and General Manager Laurie Barron thought his team wasn’t at its best.
“We did have some down times. I thought we chased the puck and maybe weren’t quite as physical. Two points are two points though against a real good hockey club.”
The teams meet again Sunday at noon in Truro as part of the MHL Showcase.
Barron says he’ll look for more physicality from his club.
“When we were down a bit tonight, I thought we didn’t win enough pucks. We ended up chasing the game. Against them, if you have too much time in your own zone, they’re tough.”
Yarmouth will take on the South Shore Lumberjacks Monday at 1:30 in their second game of the showcase.
