You don’t need to travel to area 51 to hear about aliens…Shag Harbour is celebrating their very own first encounter.
The Shag Festival is an opportunity for people to hear about a UFO sighting in 1967.
Volunteer Noah Morritt says first hand witnesses will be on hand to share their experience.
He says this year they’ve even added a bus tour.
“You get to go on the original course that the lights took. Right from where it was first spotted to where it disappeared into the harbour.”
Morritt says many people come to hear about the possible visitation but how much they believe the story varies.
“I think there’s a range of interpretations. The original witnesses, what they reported to the RCMP is that they saw an airplane crashed into the harbour, and there have been lots of questions about what this was.”
Festivities are happening all weekend but Morritt says the bus leaves the station at 6 p.m. tomorrow night.
