A busy street in Shelburne is being tied up by construction.
King Street is being resurfaced this week to the town limit sign, about a two kilometre stretch.
Mayor Karen Mattatall says she’s happy to see the work getting done despite some inconveniece for motorists.
“There probably is never really a good time, it will always be inconvenient. But, I’m hoping once the project is done people will be happy it’s done to see that street resurfaced.”
The road has been widened to install bike lanes.
Mattatall says the bike lanes are a nice touch.
“I think more people will use it than we think. It creates an opportunity to attract tourists who travel by bike and makes it a more attractive area.”
Mattatall expects the work to be complete by the end of the week.
She says the town plans on paving Falls Lane and Main Street next year.
