The Yarmouth Junior A Mariners are still undefeated.
Andrew Martell’s two quick goals late in the second period propelled the Mariners to a 6-2 win over the St. Stephen Aces tonight.
Yarmouth has now won five in a row to start the season.
Forward Mike Snow was named first star of the game with a beautiful goal in the first period and a pretty assist in the third.
Snow describes his goal.
“I picked up the puck in our end. Took a look up ice saw there was nobody in front of me, so I skated with it. Went inside-outside on the defenseman and went backhand.”
Ezekiel Estrada, Duncan McKie and Ryan Daley had the other goals, and Brendan Cregan got the win in net making 34 saves.
Brady Griffin-Hefford and Adam Crowe scored for St. Stephen, and Levi Denny stopped 37 shots.
After the game, the teams shook hands and gathered at centre ice, as the Mariners presented a $500 cheque to the Scottie Greene fund.

The Aces defenseman was involved in a motor vehicle accident last week and is still in hospital.
Aces Head Coach Josh Hepditch says the support for Greene and his hockey club is incredible.
“All the organizations have reached out, and to see what South Shore and Yarmouth did over the past two nights with their donations and their support, it’s really special. All we can do is be there for his family and that’s what we’re trying to do.”
The Aces return home on Friday, September 30 against Woodstock.
The Mariners host the South Shore Lumberjacks tomorrow night.
