A medical marijuana facility could still be built on the site of the former boys school in Shelburne.
The Municipality has the property up for tender, hoping to catch a good price.
It doesn’t have to accept any bids and it’s already rejected two previous offers.
Two companies had previously expressed an interest in setting up a medical marijuana production plant.
Neither panned out.
Warden Roger Taylor says it represents an economic opportunity for the municipality.
“We’re looking for a purchaser that will perhaps satisfy the outstanding taxes, or has a proposal that we feel is in the best interest of the municipality.”
Warden Taylor says currently the outstanding taxes are about $175,000.
He does says a different company has approached them with a medical marijuana facility in mind.
