Trailing 2-0 in the third, Clark’s Harbour native Chris Goreham got the scoring started for Yarmouth.
Newcomer Brodie Butt tied the game just moments later.
With four minutes left, Matt Barron shot the puck off the face-off win and beat Wildcats goalie Alec Lindberg.
Aaron Maillet would score seconds later on a breakaway, and Andrew Martell added a late empty netter.
Barron, the game’s first star with a goal and three assists says he’s glad the team found their offense, eventually.
“We knew it wasn’t going to be easy from the start. Once we came in after the first, we kind of realized we had to get it going. Same thing after the second. But once we got it going in the third, it was hard for them to stop.”
Head Coach and General Manager Laurie Barron says his team is finding ways to win early in the season.
“Winning teams find ways to come back from 2-0. We did that, and we’re starting to learn how to win. It was an exciting game.”
Leif Hertz stopped 23 shots for his third win of the season.
Attendance was 1234.
The Mariners travel to Berwick tomorrow to face the Wildcats in Valley’s home opener.
