A new school year means new goals for the Tri-County Regional School Board.
Last night, the Board approved its 2016-2017 business plan.
The lengthy document has a section of initiatives to improve student achievement, strengthen safety and increase program efficiency, including listening to public consultation on any changes.
Superintendent Lisa Doucet says the business plan is aligned with the Nova Scotia Action Plan, among others.
“Our student success plans are aligned with the business plan and the action plan. Our teacher’s professional growth plans are also aligned. That’s the way we’re all in the system supporting students around literacy, numeracy, safe schools and those goals.”
The provincial action plan for students includes a streamlined curriculum for students in Grades 4-6, more class caps to reduce size, and a new career education framework for Grades 4-12.
For 2016/2017, the Board has a $73.4 million budget.
The full plan is available on the Board website.
