The halls of local high schools will be a sea of pink tomorrow.
The annual Stand Up Against Bullying Day encourages students to wear pink to school.
This began in 2007 after a Nova Scotia student was bullied for wearing pink to school.
Jeanne Doucette of Wedgeport has been organizing the Walk Against Bullying in Yarmouth for five years.
Doucette says this year’s walk takes place tomorrow night at 6:30, starting at Home Hardware.
“We walk down to Shoppers Drug Mart on the sidewalk. This is just to create awareness. It’s beautiful to see when you see Starrs Road full of pink.”
Doucette encourages everyone taking part in the walk to wear pink.
She says over 300 people have participated in the last two years.
