The Yarmouth Barking Squirrels are Maritime Slo-Pitch champions.
The women’s team won their division of the tournament in Moncton over the weekend with a 13-9 victory against home team ‘Crush.’
The Squirrels finished second in the round robin and had double life to start championship day yesterday.
They won their games in the morning then lost 15-11 in the afternoon, setting up the championship game.
That qualifies the team for Nationals next year.
On the Men’s side, Yarmouth’s Sudden Impact went 1-2 in their division, and got eliminated in their morning game yesterday.
They will still play Nationals in Moncton next year.
Local team No Mercy finished fourth in the E division to also qualify for Nationals.
Also, Cuzz’s Ball Team played in the D division and finished 1-2.
