Corporal Sean Boulger says festival goers can take a free shuttle to avoid bringing their vehicles downtown.
He says that would avoid traffic jams, as there are road restrictions in place during the rally.
“In years past, it’s been an ongoing issue with people thinking they can drive their cars downtown. And then we get bottlenecks in regards of trying to get them out of there or getting them circled around to come back.”
Cpl. Boulger says RCMP are also encouraging citizens to be aware of the traffic around them and to refrain from walking in the middle of the road.
He says there were a few accidents during the last rally, and they want to avoid that this year.
Police advise giving yourself more time to get where you’re going, avoid rider distractions, and when parking your car or motorcycle, keep valuables out of sight.
