It’s day two of the 12th annual Wharf Rat Rally in Digby.
The event sees thousands of motorcycles and spectators flock to Digby every Labour Day weekend.
Wayne MacDonald, Vice-Chair of the Rally Committee says the event has grown since the early days.
“In 2005, there was probably about 750 bikers in and out of town. Last year, in terms of traffic in and out of town, probably about 20-30 thousand bike visits downtown.”
MacDonald says Rick Crane from the television series ‘Cold Water Cowboys’ will attend the rally.
The Hub City Stunters are back, along with a show and shine, arm-wrestling, custom builders and more.
A tribute to Darren Williams, a former board member with the rally will be held at the opening ceremonies tomorrow night.
Williams, a Canadian Army veteran was killed in a motorcycle accident last year.
A Canadian Forces Aurora fly-by will take place in Williams’ honour.
MacDonald says he’s hoping for clear weather for the fly-over.
The C.A.V. unit will lead the Darren Williams Commemorative Ride on Saturday from Digby to the Afghanistan Memorial Wall at Maple Grove Education Centre in Hebron.
A brief ceremony will be held at 12:15 at the school.
