The federal government is funding renovations at two Bear River, Digby County facilities.
$25,000 will go to the Bear River Economic Development Society for installation of new windows, doors and insulation.
Another $15,380 is for the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 22 for repairs to the roof and siding.
West Nova MP Colin Fraser made the announcement yesterday.
He says the funding will ensure seniors in Bear River can continue to participate in activities such as card games and speakers series within their community in comfortable facilities.
The funding is through the government’s New Horizons for Seniors Program.
