An 81 year old Yarmouth man is dead after suffering a medical event while driving.
It happened last night around 6 near the Sealed Landers Park in Yarmouth’s north-end.
Yarmouth Town RCMP Corporal John Stoddart says the man was travelling at a low speed down Vancouver Street in an SUV.
He appeared to lose control, then hit the median at the intersection and proceeded left on Main Street.
The SUV he was driving side-swiped an F-150, before colliding with another F-150 head-on.
A nurse on the way to work at Yarmouth Regional Hospital stopped and performed CPR on the man, but he was unresponsive.
He was transported to hospital by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.
Passengers in the other vehicles were not hurt.
A section of road in the area was closed until 2am, as an accident reconstructionist worked at the scene.
