A free fun day hosted by the Yarmouth Fire Department takes place this Saturday.
The Firefighters Family Fun Day returns after being cancelled due to rain last year.
This time, it’s being held at Mariners Centre, and it goes rain or shine.
Everything from barbecues and free ice cream for the kids to fire truck rides and a jaws of life demonstration will be happening from 10am until 3pm.
Yarmouth Fire Chief John Verrall says it will be an informative day.
“Everything’s free, so if there’s pamphlets there, they can pick them up, there’s information about home fires, and how they can protect themselves against it,” he says.
“With the kids learning, the parents are going to learn.”
Firefighters will also be collecting donations of shoes for children.
