The Employment Insurance system is broken and needs fixing……..That message being delivered to the Premiers who’ll be meeting later this week in the Yukon at Whitehorse by the Presidents of the provincial Federations of Labour.
Patrick Colford, President of the New Brunswick Federation of Labour, says only 40 per cent of workers now qualify for regular E-I benefits.
Colford says he has been told that on P-E-I, whether you qualify for E-I depends on what shere you live and some people have paid neighbours money to use their addresses in order to qualify because they just happen to live on the wrong side of the tracks.
