A program is being offered in Yarmouth to families whose children may be facing difficulties at home or school.
It's called 'Strengthening Families for the Future.
Sheri Doucette is an Early Childhood Educator with the Early Years Centre at Yarmouth Central School.
She says it's all about helping parents and children learn healthy coping skills.
"Just a chance maybe to talk about what's happening in their family, and how everyone feels these things and everyone has problems, and it's just a way to help deal with those things."
Doucette says it includes the whole family and begins with separate sessions.
"And then the parents and kids get together. They re-unite in a family session to talk about what they learned. They are kind of learning the same thing but on a different level. They are talking about what they've learned."
The 11-week program is begins Tuesday, March 21 at Central School.
There are a limited number of spaces available.
