The Canadian Army Veterans Motorcycle Unit will ride from Digby to the Afghanistan Memorial at Maple Grove in Hebron.
Yarmouth’s Joe Paquette says it will start in the Wal-Mart parking lot at 11am.
The one hundred or so motorcycles, led by an RCMP escort will arrive at Maple Grove at around 12:15.
Some riders will head to Veterans Place after the ceremony before heading back to Digby.
Paquette says the ride will honour those fallen in Afghanistan and MCpl. Darren Williams, who organized the first Memorial Ride.
He says it has a deep meaning for everyone.
“Gentlemen who are riding have been there and can not only relate but know the people who have passed. We get supporters of veterans and sometimes we get Silver Cross people out as well.”
Williams was killed in a motorcycle accident in Ontario.
Funds are also being raised for the Yarmouth High/Maple Grove Memorial Club and the Rally Point Retreat in Sable River, Shelburne County for soldiers with PTSD.
The ride has been a feature of the Wharf Rat Rally over the last five years.
