The Yarmouth International Airport is gearing up for a big celebration Saturday.
It’s their 80th anniversary of operation, and lots of special events are planned at the airport.
The day begins at 9am with the Tri-County Flying Club’s breakfast.
Event Coordinator Linda Deveau says there will be free tower tours and terminal exhibits from 10am-4pm.
Deveau says 80 years is something to celebrate.
“It’s outstanding in a community of this size to have the facility that we have, the history, the individuals who are still here that have served, flown and retired here. It’s certainly worth a handshake and a hello, so come on out, bring your family and learn more about our airport and the opportunities it can provide.”
The 299 Yarmouth Lions Air Cadet League Banquet will take place from 5:30pm-8pm.
Deveau says the first ever Starlight Runway Run will take place that evening, and that event is sold out.
Proceeds from the run will go to Yarmouth Ground Search and Rescue.
