The province is sending firefighters to aid Ontario and Quebec in controlling forest fires.
A 20-person crew from the Department of Lands and Forestry will leave Halifax for Sudbury tomorrow.
The crew will then form five four-person initial attack crews to fight fires burning in Ontario.
A safety officer is also traveling to Ontario to work with a team from Alberta to help co-ordinate resources.
The assistance as requested through the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre.
The government says current conditions allow for the sharing of the crew and that firefighting resources are still maintained in Nova Scotia.
Thousands of hectares of forest are currently burning out of control in Northern Ontario.
